SB 598 -- MEMORIAL HIGHWAY

CO-SPONSORS:  Childers, Nodler (Wilson, 130)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Committee on
Transportation and Motor Vehicles by a vote of 20 to 0.

This bill designates the portion of U. S. Highway 71 in McDonald
County the "Corporal Bobbie J. Harper Memorial Highway."

FISCAL NOTE:  Estimated Cost to Highway Fund of $844 in FY 2004,
$0 in FY 2005, and $0 in FY 2006.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say this is a fitting memorial to the
peace officer.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Childers; and Missouri State
Troopers Association.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
